I think we ought to include the Traffic Jam before it became a restaurant and Vern's |

I remember that the alcohol-free side of TJ's was called The Snug. |

I used to drink a lot of beer and write a lot of poetry(I used to sell my books around WSU) at TJ's-I also met my friend Bob Roberts at the Snug when he worked there |

I used to work at TJ's and the snug. What a great place. It was the only bar in the neighborhood besides Cobb's I believe that did not grease 'the big four'. Remember the 'big four'? After we closed one night and all the customers were gone they broke down the back door and basically terrorized us. I remember allot of verbal abuse and a couple of the guys getting pushed around. I think that they were just frustrated that the shake downs were not working, although that night they may have just helped themselves. What I remember most is how long they seemed to stay and how intimidated I was. Jees, I was barely 21. |
